This is food-related, so I knew you'd be able to steer me right on this.

I had previously eaten one hamburger back about 5 years ago from 5 Guys. I saw nothing great about it, and thought it was overpriced.

Wife went by and picked me up a double with bacon & mushrooms a couple of nights ago - and fuck me running if it wasn't damned good. I mean - it wasn't quite up to par with one that was made and grilled here at home, but it was honestly good. Gave me a great turd as well!

Am I right about this, or am I just getting old and fucked up, and are my taste buds starting to fail me - or is this behavior acceptable?

Yeah - would agree with that for sure. The fries, however, were damned good as well.

Last I was there I think a bacon double cheese was $8.59. Just the sando. Holy shit.

That's it. I would never plan or aim to go there. Sounds like you were just in the mood and it hit the spot. THat happens there. And the $8.79 double bacon is correct. Unreal.

Comparing your first experience there to a couple nights ago...this isn't uncommon. It speaks to Five Guys' inconsistency. That's well-documented.

As for the fries, I like to mix that Heinz malt vinegar with ketchup and pepper. I showed this to my nephew there once and he always talks about doing it now.

What I did one time there , I encourage you to try the same- when I was done with my cup of water, I filled it with those peanuts and also filled up some napkins with peanuts and stuck them in my coat pocket

Then, I went up to where the ketchup is and grabbed the Heinz malt vinegar since it was mostly full, and walked out with it. It's usually busy in there and all the employees are way in the back or taking orders, so it's not like anyone is going to catch you doing it. These two little tricks kind of help make up for the overpriced food. 8-)

5 guys burgers aren't bad. Just pricey. Fries are parboiled/hand cut, fried in peanut oil and are good... unless you're some kinda allergic faggot.
The country is filled with ''decent'' $12. burger/fries/drink deals. The world needs more Krystal/White Castle kinda joints. I love those little sliders. Last time I was in Memphrica I stopped in my favorite Krystal and got a box of 24 Krystal cheese/fresh steamed for $20. The whole family loves those things.

Seriously, anybody diagnosed with some sort of "nut allergy" should just proceed to lower themselves into a wood chipper, preferably with the ejection chute aimed at a needy garden or lawn.
:x
Sweet-fucking-Christmas-crackers...but if the world could use a culling of the gene pool, it could start with these specimens.

I love Krystals too, but those fuckers are getting pricey. Over $6 to get 4 Krystals and small fries down here now - with water. They've also managed to make them smaller over the last 10 years.
