Ever since Gary Carter made the Baseball HOF I think all HOFs are garbage. Who cares anymore?
Bon Jovi is less than music's Gary Carter

Well fuck then, in that case it sounds like we should start importing them by the thousands into the U.S.

I'm ok w/ Bon Jovi. NO to all others.
Judas Priest got fucked, and likely will
again for a few more years. They will
get in one day, but like KISS, Rush, and
many others it will be long overdue. In
reality, the only the that keeps the R&R HOF
semi relevant is the horse shit they pull
keeping legit HOF bands waiting, and
putting in shit bands and nogs not named
Hendrix, Prince, or possibly Kravitz.

CA go fuck yourself. You already proved yourself to be an idiot
on any subject involving music in the Sabbath thread. You were likely
one of fuck heads that would come up to me in junior high talking
shit about KISS and saying they were devil worshipers and that KISS
really meant Knights in Satans Service or some lame shit. 2 seconds
later, you got a wedgie and shoved in a locker.

You're just a tragically stupid person.
KISS has as much musical talent as a bucket of shit.

Once again you prove yourself to be an idiot. A bonafide idiot.

September 15, 2015 | Gold & Platinum

KISS - America's #1 Gold Record Award Winning Group of All Time
KISS (Rock And Roll Hall of Fame), now celebrating its 40th anniversary, has earned more Gold Album Record Awards than any American band in the history of The Recording Industry Association of America’s (RIAA’s) Gold & Platinum Awards certifications.
In the last 41 years, KISS has earned 30 Gold albums (26 KISS albums + 4 Solo Albums that were all released simultaneously—a feat never before achieved by any band.) KISS has 14 Platinum albums, with three albums being multi-Platinum.

“Congratulations to KISS – the new Gold standard for albums by American bands,” said Cary Sherman, Chairman & CEO, RIAA. “What an extraordinary achievement for an enduring band. Forty years later and the band is still rocking. Congratulations to KISS on their Gold album milestone and continued success.”

KISS remains one of the most influential bands in the history of rock and roll. Decades of record-breaking tours around the globe have included high-profile appearances at Super Bowl XXXIII, the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, the Rockin’ The Corps concert dedicated to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, special guest appearance on the 2009 American Idol finale that boasted 30 million viewers and a 2010 Dr. Pepper Super Bowl commercial and advertising campaign in support of their Hottest Show On Earth tour.

Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, with longtime members guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer, are stronger than ever with a legacy that continues to grow, generation after generation. Their last album, Monster, proved that they are still at the top of their game with impressive sales and topping the charts worldwide debuting at No. 3 in the U.S. on the Billboard 200 best-selling albums chart and Top 10 in twenty other countries. The unparalleled devotion and loyalty of the KISS Army to the “Hottest Band in the World” is a striking testament to the band’s unbreakable bond with its fans.

KISS is currently celebrating two other major milestones, their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April of 2014, as well as the band’s 40th Anniversary. KISS 40, an album celebrating 40 years of Rock ‘N Roll is available now.

Now toss all that aside and look at some of the criteria the HOF actually uses in the decision process:

Quote:
Leaders in the music industry joined together in 1983 to establish the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. One of the Foundation’s many functions is to recognize the contributions of those who have had a significant impact on the evolution, development and perpetuation of rock and roll by inducting them into the Hall of Fame.
Artists become eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first record. Criteria include the influence and significance of the artists’ contributions to the development and perpetuation of rock and roll.

Quote:
Nomination and induction into the Hall of Fame is not about popularity, records sales, which label the group is on, or anything other than the process below. The love for, the evaluation of, and the impact of any artist are subjective questions to be answered by the nominators and the voters. Unlike baseball, football, basketball or hockey, statistics are not relevant. Please read below:
The entire nomination and induction process is coordinated by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation in New York City. Individuals can be inducted in four categories: Performer, Early Influence, Non-Performer and Side-Men. The only formal criteria for the performance category is that an artist has to have had their first record 25 years ago. That said, candidates are reviewed and discussed relative to their impact on this music that we broadly call rock and roll. The innovation and influence of these artists is also critical. Gold records, number one hits, and million sellers are really not appropriate standards for evaluation.

Quote:
From Wikipedia

Kiss is often cited as one of the most influential bands within the hard rock and heavy metal genre, with artists such as Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Guns N' Roses, Pantera, Iron Maiden, Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, Megadeth, Anthrax, Poison, Alice in Chains, Slayer, Sepultura, Dream Theater, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, White Zombie, Rob Zombie, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against The Machine, Bon Jovi, W.A.S.P., Weezer, Melvins, Lenny Kravitz, Tool, Black Veil Brides as well as notable acts of other genres such as Garth Brooks and Lady Gaga citing the band and its various members as influences, both musically and visually.

Now fuck off and die haters.

KISS was never about being "great musicians." They were about making popular music. And they did. There is no requirement to create new chords and complex time signatures to make great music. Sometimes all it takes is the right sound at the right time; KISS did that while being great showmen and memorable characters.

You can resume your slap fight now.
