Quote:
Appropriately revered west coast burger chain In-N-Out Burger is making an unprecedented expansion into Dallas, Texas.

The chain has infamously not expanded beyond the Western states of California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah, as In-N-Out trucks in its meat from a central facility and has resisted reorganizing that structure in order to accomodate farther reaching locations (for a visual explanation of the process, see this graphic at the Orange County Register).

However, for the upcoming In-N-Out in Dallas, the company is building a whole new meat processing facility in Texas, suggesting that future Texas In-N-Out locations are in the works. Nancy Luna at the Orange County Register has the scoop:

Van Fleet, vice president of planning and development at In-N-Out, said the 1,500-mile move to Texas will force the chain to build a "new patty production facility and distribution center."

"It is far enough away that we will have to open a new one there as we remain committed to making our own hamburger patties and maintaining the same operating philosophies and standards that have been in place for 62 years," he said. "We'll have a Dallas area facility to produce patties locally and provide support for our restaurants there."

Van Fleet said the new facility would support at least a "few" restaurant sites in Texas. He declined to say exactly how many restaurants the chain could open in the region.

Carl Van Fleet also told Eater, "We continue to work on a number of site opportunities in the DFW market. We're enthusiastic about the Garland location but there is still work to be done, as there is on all of our projects in the area.

No opening date has been set yet. Stay tuned.

Great for Dallas, but Denver has been begging for an In-N-Out and all their excuse has been "we don't want to expand further east for fear of losing food quality."

I stopped by a new up and coming chain last weekend...called Cheeseburger Cheeseburger.

I’m always a bit squeamish about hamburgers whose "toppings" are not all on top, as is the case here. Not sweating the technique, I am pleased as always with the experience. The hot 100 percent pure-beef is divine, perfectly cooked to give just a hint of the grill. The veggies are not only fresh, they taste it, bursting in your mouth with crispness and flavor. You can see the crew leafing fresh lettuce and slicing onions FROM THE DRIVE THROUGH WINDOW. You could even see the entire process of French Fries-making too. you could see the crew peeling the potatoes, cutting them to fries, soaking the uncooked fries in water for a while and finally deep frying them, draining the oil, blah blah blah….

A light dressing of secret sauce gives just a hint of tang, blending greatly with the freshly baked buns. Not oversized, the burgers fit perfectly in your hand and can be neatly devoured in a few bites. yes they are a little overrated and dont stack up to Fudd Ruckers or even carls Jr $6.00 burger, but for $5.00 you can get a double double, fries AND a drink.

They also give you a PLACEMAT to set on the seat of your car to catch any grease drippings that might escape.

I highly recommend going there and order directly off the menu a double double WITH NO CHANGES. you need a baseline for your next trip. then research the secret menu http://www.badmouth.net/in-n-outs-secret-menu/ and go that route.

My go to Double Double, 'Animal Style" raw onions, well done fries

Unfortunately their fries suck...badly. They are easily the worst fast food fries out there. Dry, bland, tasteless. Skip the fries and get another burger instead.

The shakes are pretty damn good, though.

We have this fairly new chain here called Five Guys. The SE and some of my friends have talked about it, but the only thing they have talked about are the fries.

As for Fuddruckers and Red Robin go- I don't like Red Robin. I live in Kansas City. If I am gonna go to a restaurant and pay for beef (that took rewording already, don't destroy it) I am gonna get a K.C. Strip. You can get a nice one of those with a good baked and salad with bread for the same price as Burger and fries at Red Robin.

Haven't had Fuddruckers for years. They used to be pretty good. Again, I have heard how expensive they are for a burger- makes no sense to me.

Seriously. You don't understand. Their fries are as bad as their burgers are good. It just doesn't make sense.

The best call would be to hit In&Out for burgers and swing by McD's for the fries.

I would skip the fries if they had good milkshakes.

does In & Out serve Milkshakes, and if so, how do they rank?

I have been on a killer rampage of Milkshakes these past 2 weeks.

I saw a sign at Chic-Fil-A for a peach milkshake, although trying one would certainly put you in the sights of the "your a homo" trolls.

You're right. I don't understand.

I've never sank my teeth into the piping-hot grease and fresh-cut toppings of a delicious In and Out Burger.

Let me guess, the drinks at Jack-In-The-Box are watered down, you thoughtless cock? :x
